Open spaces beckon an entrance. Walls extend upwards and give way to the sky. An inside that looks outside. ATRIA is aural architecture created by Mike McGinnis, Jay Mollerskov and Tim Russell. Curiosity guided by intuition, we hear three musicians simultaneously designing, building and inhabiting a dynamic interior that invites perlustration but also promotes a contemplation of the exterior. Melodies roam through an ever evolving textural landscape, searching for asylum from the perils of an uncertain future. Entranced by the fleeting rhythms from afar, a Sirens’ call to the infinite, resolve eludes and we succumb to the duality of the ATRIA.
